The Hush
03:15
|

In mornings when you sleep
on porches quiet keeps
In the hush I hear you breathe
I was calling out your name
my belongings in my hands I was moving away
The Seed grows and floats away
Oh dear, did you call my name
Through fields that burn
neath birds of prey
'Cause I gave all of my plans today
to the wind that moves carries me away (carries me away)
The beginning of the end
in the quietness you mend
In the stillness I feel you bend
I was calling out your name
I was underneath your thumb
I was finding my own way
Seed grows and floats away
I told you to be brave
Oh dear, did you call my name
Through fields that burn
neath birds of prey
'Cause I gave all of my plans today
to the wind that moves carries me away (carries me away)
'Cause I gave all of my plans today
to the wind that moves carries me away (carries me away)

Acorn
03:39
|
|
||
spinning down the circuits
diving in to old wives' tales
shaking off the dullness
shaking off the noise that kills
But when the train rolls to a stop
will my vigor rust?
will my memory deceive me
when the steady rhythm leaves me
or will I like the acorn
falling from the tree
gathered up with purpose
joyfully for need
running from the circus
hiding 'neath the canopy
a ritual observance
hoping it will bring me peace
but when the images I see
slowly bend and leave
when I return from dreaming
will starlings steal my seedlings?
Or will I like the tortoise
moving through the sea
fearlessly in service
or quietly for need
Or will I like the acorn
falling from the tree
gathered up with purpose
joyfully for need
Or will I like the tortoise
moving through the sea
fearlessly in service
or quietly for need
